I was honoured to be part of the review panel of this important paper by my friend Lars, an Energy expert who bases his views on facts and data, not leaning to magical thinking nor fashion.
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) recently issued a new report โA Blueprint for the Energy Transition 2023โ – I [Lars] took the time and responded to 9 key points that I felt need clarification, are inconsistent with current scientific knowledge, or incompatible with energy economic principles.
Main points:

The graph below demonstrates that coal never replaced the old biomass-based world, nor did #oil or #gas replace coal. Even โ#renewablesโ never ad nor will replace any preceding energy sources but simply continue(d) to add to energy sources.
There is a fundamental
Since a higher cost of energy has direct and detrimental implications for any industrial development, as well as human well-being, especially in developing countries, why does it seem that these factors are not being considered?… for example here:

My response was sent to the authors of the BCG report on 24th September. I am hoping to hear soon and look forward discuss more with BCG about their โA Blueprint for the Energy Transition 2023โ as well as #energyeconomics in general.
